Single sex spaces policies

My daughters are 11 and 13. We are members at David Lloyd (the family friendly gym). I have asked for their single-sex spaces policy. It would seem that their membership package does include the prospect of being naked in front of and alongside strange, naked, adult men whilst using the womens changing room. Please Parents protect your kids and ask all services for their single-sex spaces policy...school, clubs, library, clothes shops, cinema etc This free for all nonsense needs to stop!

OP that's appalling, but, sadly, unsurprising. I see articles about concerns from the Government and the NHS about low involvement of women and girls in sport. I think about this, it's probably not a major reason (because many women are unaware they could find surprise penis in their changing rooms) but it is a reason.

If you're new to this issue Flowers

One of the reasons transwomen, or men claiming to be trans, have been able to bully organisations like David Lloyd's into allowing men in their women's single sex spaces is because Stonewall and the like have misrepresented the Equality Act. The companies are worried they might be breaking the law by refusing access to these men, which essentially means any man. There's a petition trying to reach 100k signatures to get a debate in Parliament to, ultimately, get the law clarified and strengthened. I'll put a link below to the MN petition board which has a link to the petition on the Government petition website. If you haven't already signed it please do so and share with other concerned parties, male or female.

This is slightly different but also shows how little respect organisations have for why women and girls should have single sex spaces.

I saw a job ad from one of the Havens. They provide medical support and can take forensic evidence, from woman reporting rape even if they don't want to contact the police.

The job ad is for service user engagement and it is NOT being advertised as women only.

I can just about see how someone doing some sort of backroom job could just about to be thought to be okay if they were male.

But in fact part of the job description is "will include running a service user group, managing the service user feedback working group and developing innovative ways to enable service users to influence and co-design our service resources and processes".

And I do know that some men get raped but by and large the "service users" will be women. Surely it is totally inappropriate to have a man running a service users group.

This is so disheartening. It maybe a consequence of the centres now being run by the NHS, but how depressing.
