Bill Maher - seems to have properly peaked

Bill Maher did seem to peak a while ago, after a very disappointingly long silence on the subject but this weeks 'New Rule' poked at gender ideology towards the end of the segment. I find some reassurance that Bill's liberal audience is laughing at this stuff now.

"I've spent three decades on TV mocking Republicans who said climate change was just a theory and now I've got to deal with people who say: "You know what else is just a theory? Biology.""

Very good. When people start taking the piss out of the ideology you know people can start saying how they feel about it in real life.

About normal for Bill's audience, I'd say. Maybe slightly less enthusiastic than normal.

Thank goodness for Mayer. He seemed really peaved off when mentioning he was mocking republicans for 30 years for saying the climate issues did not exist and that he now had to mock democrats for pretending reality does not exist.

Every other US big host has been a let down.

I actually think he was a bit unfair to the Mumford and Sons guy who DID end up doubling down on his right to read what he wants in the end. But other than that is was good to see it all being set out...

There was a discussion of the issue in the first episode of the current season, too! Great to see Maher not backing down.

of the us late night hosts, John Oliver has gone full frothing tra, Trevor Noah looked uncomfortable but offered little pushback to “Veronica” ivy or whatever name he goes by now, and Seth meyers doesn’t seem to want to touch the subject with a 10ft pole which I hope means what I think it means, as I quite like him.
