God on Facebook

Does anyone else follow ‘God’ on Facebook? He/she/they seem to have jumped on the anti-JKR bandwagon. The writer of this article is twisting themselves in knots trying to explain why they’re offended, but there are plenty of people willing to leap in and add their little bit of abuse in the comments.
It’s disappointing as I usually enjoy whatever they have to share.

I stopped following god on Facebook a few weeks ago. It used to be funny rational/ atheist stuff, but now it’s just all regurgitated rubbish from Reddit etc in which the “article” rarely adds more than the click bait headline.

PS transwomen aren’t women.

I think ‘God’ in this context is American.

I think that in the US the issue has been hijacked by far right groups, and the country is so divided that the left has lost the capacity to think about it as a women’s rights issue.

I also think America is still more driven by belief in the rights of the individual than belief in the rights of a community - hence their health care system, failure to protect abortion rights etc.
