Absence of evidence, of course, does not mean evidence of absence when such evidence is explicitly either not collected (Ireland) or not allowed to be disseminated (seems that this is partly what's happening in Belgium).

I have gathered together all sorts of newspaper links from the ThisNeverHappens thread here and from other places. Men dressing as women in order to attack either women or children does not seem very unusual, in general, to give just one example.

It's not possible to calculate the frequency of something happening if we are not given the actual numbers and the likely sub-population sizes of trans women, non-trans men doing this etc. Currently the evidence is not mostly available from governments without great effort, and some US states (California, and New York is trying) are banning people even finding out how many male people might be in women's prisons in those states.

That's not true though - 20 or 30 years ago the thought of putting men in women's prisons would have been laughable. Now it's progressive.

While it's true that some men will violate women's spaces regardless, they now have carte blanche to do so, and the ability to shame and shout down people who disagree (like the serial flasher in the Wi Spa incident, where the woman who objected was seen as the problem, not the sex offender waving his willy around young children).

Article 97, fourth paragraph, and Article 108, second paragraph, of the 1949 Geneva Convention III provide that women prisoners of war undergoing disciplinary punishment or convicted of an offence shall be confined in separate quarters from men and shall be under the immediate supervision of women.

I've always found this profound when talking about women prisoners but I find it relevant for any situation where a transgender debate is taking place.
