Another example of how the Observer has a different editorial politcy to that of the Guardian.

Although the comment itslef probably not as clear cut as some of us would like:

" ... There is a respectful compromise to be had – but it requires politicians to chose balance over toxicity ... "

One of the steps that could be taken to create more balance, and be an antidote to some of the toxicity, would be to update the Equality Act to make it absolutely clear that “sex” means biological sex, not sex as modified by a gender recognition certificate.

Doesn’t Sonia Sodha write leader columns for the Observer? I have so much respect for her (sadly necessary) bravery, as a woman of the left, in standing up for women’s rights and making such clear arguments time and time again.

GRA was a compromise and was also a wedge that leads to the destruction women’s rights.
