First sentence of the article:

A TRANSGENDER woman has gone on trial accused of raping two females with "her penis".

Making it obvious that this so-called 'transgender woman' is actually a man.

Ramblingnamechanger · 18/01/2023 14:36

But we know that never happens…

inkjet · 18/01/2023 14:39

Advocate depute John Keenan KC read out a joint minute of agreement to the jury stating that Bryson’s ‘dead name’ was Adam Graham.

This is an aside really, but ‘dead name’ isn’t a technical term, people may choose to use it and refer to their previous name as it but should it be accepted by everyone else? Why can’t they say “previous name” or “previously known as”? It makes grown men sound like teenagers.

Ofcourseshecan · 18/01/2023 14:41

Good for The Sun showing what a farce ‘her penis’ is. I can’t see ‘her penis’ without thinking of the wonderful Ricky Gervais.

Chersfrozenface · 18/01/2023 14:48

The Scottish Sun has seen which way the wind is blowing, then.

Its story labelled "Exclusive" on the website, presumably because the other media outlets won't cover it.

Spotted an opportunity, haven't they?

Orangesandlemons77 · 18/01/2023 15:07

It is in the Times as well?

Looks like the Times picked up the story from the Scottish Sun. The Sun's story is timestamped 21.52 yesterday and the Times story 13.50 today.

The timing of this trial is extremely helpful given all of the public debate.
'Her penis'
Doesn't that just say it all.
This trial highlights the safety issues we have been talking about all along. At last it seems the public awareness is finally awakening.

I have said this before, and I will say it again, if you truly identify with women then you would not wish to subject them to this level of risk and danger.
You would accept the third spaces and stop the hate in its tracks.

I want to see and hear more voices that understand how deeply damaging this is to women and girls, and how deeply damaging it is to the campaign for the very small percentage of people that actually do feel they live in the wrong body and need protection. We are achieving nothing by stripping one vulnerable group their rights entirely (women) and allowing laws that are bent and misused by predators that will happily exploit the trans movement to its fullest extent for their personal benefit and gratification.

At last we are being heard.

laidbacklife · 18/01/2023 15:29

Shouldn’t be referred to as a transgender woman until vaginoplasty has been carried out. Anyone with a penis is male (in my book and to most other people with a working brain). If you truly are transgender then you need to go the whole hog and have all the surgery needed to convert. Otherwise you are simply what you were born as!

Chersfrozenface · 18/01/2023 15:37

I also note that the Scottish Sun goes into detail about the dates of the offences of which the person is accused and the date of the GP letter regarding medication.

I wonder whether the date/s of arrest and charging will be revealed as the trial goes on. Another case of "transition" after arrest for wrongdoing, perhaps

mumda · 18/01/2023 15:40

I wonder if there's a different "her penis" behind the advent calendar door tomorrow.

mumda · 18/01/2023 15:42

Medication:
Finasteride, sold under the brand names Proscar and Propecia among others, is a medication used to treat hair loss and benign prostatic hyperplasia in men. It can also be used to treat excessive hair growth in women. It is taken by mouth. Finasteride is a 5α-reductase inhibitor and therefore an antiandrogen.

From NHS: It's generally not recommended for women or children.
Tell your doctor if you: are trying for a baby or have a pregnant partner – this medicine passes into semen and can affect an unborn baby

Spironolactone, sold under the brand name Aldactone among others, is a medication that is primarily used to treat fluid build-up due to heart failure, liver scarring, or kidney disease

You know "vaginoplasty" does not create a vagina, right? It's just a gouged out hole in a man's groin that constantly tries to heal by closing up - like any wound would. That's not what a vagina is. Its not a wound. It's a self-lubricating muscular canal.

To be succinct: a man with a hole-shaped wound in his groin is not a woman. He's a man who's had his penis hollowed out and inverted because he likes traditionally feminine things and thinks that, as far as I can see, that's irreconcilable with having a penis.

Even a man who undergoes castration and has a “vagina” constructed via plastic surgery is still a man - they’re just one with no penis who identifies as a woman (whatever that means)

TRANSGENDER woman has gone on trial accused of raping two females with "her penis".

This is like something out of a comedy sketch (monty python?) I’d laugh if it wasn’t so utterly, gut-wrenchingly awful.

You explained it much better than me! 😂

This. A woman is not a man sans penis, and I'm no longer prepared to pretend.

I've seen the miles taken, and I want them back, plus the initial inch.

”A woman is not a man sans penis, and I'm no longer prepared to pretend.”

While I don’t think I ever even pretended that a male with extreme surgery was ever a woman, I do think the time for lying is over.

I understand that some people feel differently, however, no male can ever become a female. Well, until the world has developed the tech to vaporize our bodies and reconfigure them at atomic level. Nice to dream about for Star Trek fans, but I suspect that by 2400 (stardate 77002.26) some people will be looking back with disappointment. Like I am because there are no hover boards! (I suspect someone has the technology developed but is determined to keep all the hoverboards for themselves!)

I feel the time for lying has past. Partly because we can now see the damage and harm done to those who are most vulnerable. When you have, in Canada, a 30 year old male registering for assisted death because they cannot live their life knowing that at 19 they believed doctors and those around them that inverting their penis would make them feel better about themselves, you know that this is the result of perpetuating a lie.

How many female transitioners have told us on these very boards that they realise even though they ‘pass’, that they know they can never be men? They quickly realise and have learned to accept it.

Has perpetuating the lie helped these individuals really?

And Partly because forcing a population to engage in a lie on this scale (not just 1 person and not just 1 day) is pretty fucked up when you take the time to consider it. I mean, how kind is that really to everyone who is forced to continue to lie?
