BBC Pride group is accused by some corporation staff of undermining same-sex attracted people by promoting self-identified genders

... some staff are calling for a crackdown on the group, accusing it of being “homophobic” by eroding the sanctity of binary, immutable biological sex by promoting self-identified genders, thus undermining same-sex attracted people.

“Many staff are fed up with the way BBC Pride’s influence undermines the BBC’s reputation for impartiality – Tim Davie needs to shut Pride down now before its influence undermines the BBC further,” one BBC insider said. ...

Wow this is really interesting.

And not that long ago an article like this just was never ever going to be seen. Think to the Nolan podcasts for example..

Strange that this isn't a quote attributed to anyone though, "Now, the Telegraph can reveal that some staff are calling for a crackdown on the group, accusing it of being “homophobic” by eroding the sanctity of binary, immutable biological sex by promoting self-identified genders, thus undermining same-sex attracted people." Because it is is such a strong GC statement!

Absolutely great that this article and clearly some in the BBC are effectively stating the case for LGBA, and aligning themselves with women as the conflict of interests is so clearly in that sphere. The forced teaming of the LGB with the T is so damaging.

Sunlight.

This was discussed in a thread a day or two ago. Unfortunately it has such a terrible title that hardly anyone noticed it.

TightFistedWozerk · 10/01/2023 14:50

Thank you, interesting stuff.

Thelnebriati · 10/01/2023 14:52

I'm going to repeat the comment I made on the other thread;
“People seem to think Tim is aware of the issue, but every complaint has to go through the Pride sponsor Phil Harrold, because he also runs Tim’s office.”

IwantToRetire · 10/01/2023 17:08

Sorry missed the other thread. I mainly posted because although there have been reports of women feeling they are being erased, I hadn't until now seen one where L&G staff are speaking up and saying they are being erased to.

But of course none of this would be an issue if the BBC hadn't against good practice allowed one interest group to have the right of veto on all things.

The BBC who are meant to have a world wide reputation for proper reporting.

BBC senior management have been incredibly naive not to understand the political nature of gender identity activism and the way it’s been tacked onto gay rights.

‘It’s all about trans, not LGB’

“People seem to think Tim is aware of the issue, but every complaint has to go through the Pride sponsor Phil Harrold, because he also runs Tim’s office.”

What a relief that someone has dared to expose this. It explains a lot.

pattihews · 10/01/2023 20:49

Phil Harrold is Company Secretary of the BBC and chief of staff to the Chairman and Director General.

He is responsible for corporate governance across the BBC and manages the business of the BBC Board, the Executive Committee and all other corporate decision-making bodies across the BBC Group.
As chief of staff to the BBC’s Director-General and Chairman, he runs the private office that supports them in undertaking their duties.

He's the person they didn't dare name. Top TRA at the BBC.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 10/01/2023 20:52

Good to see this getting publicity.

pattihews · 10/01/2023 20:56

He's been Head of Governance since 2014. When did the trans rot start to become noticeable?

BlessedKali · 11/01/2023 00:52

The comments are great

The comments are great

Onw wonders if anyone from the BBC etc reads them and picks up on the prevailing public mood.

If debate hadn't been so stifled for so long, they may have realised how few people are actually on board a long time ago.

RichardBarrister · 11/01/2023 10:08

It is interesting that the trans activists make the accusation of homophobia when it suits them, while being actively involved in homophobia themselves by denying that same sex attraction should be respected or protected in law.

Call it what it is: dishonesty. You'll see it a lot.
