A poem from Welsh artist Sonya Douglas for all the women who stand up and speak out for each other. Scroll down to the end of the post for the poem.

So, here’s to the women who stand
The women who take their lives in their hands
Who hold to the truth on point of pain
Who are told they’re insane
And to stay their lane
Here’s to the women who still speak out
The women who say speak scream and shout to make their voices heard
I know there’s safety in silence
But you know that doesn’t protect you from violence

Ah, now you've made me cry.

That's wonderful.

There are times when poetry can stiffen your bones and this is one of them.

I'm going to learn lines from this.

Inspired by the poem in the OP I give you:

WOMEN OF EXTREMES

From Barbie Girl to GI Joe we are woman
From high heels to rigger boots we are woman
From flat chested to buxom we are woman
From mother of six to barren with nil we are woman
From “3 days, very light” to “36 days now, still flooding” we are woman
From homeless with nothing to millionaires row we are woman
From far left to far right we are woman
From pro choice to pro life we are woman
From pick religion of choice to no God at all we are woman
From only does cock to only does cunt we are woman
From all walks of life and from all points of view we are woman
From time of conception to moment of death we are woman.

You wonderful women, every single one of you.x
