In the Telegraph. To do with being blocked, it seems:

National police LGBT network under investigation for blocking critics of wokery on Twitter

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2022/12/03/national-police-lgbt-network-investigation-blocking-critics/

"Anna Loutfi, a barrister for both groups, has submitted formal complaints to six chief constables, for forces where the Network’s senior leaders work.
The groups have threatened in letters to launch formal legal action unless @LGBTPoliceUK reverses its “unlawful action” by unblocking them.
Her letter points to the oath of attestation placing upon constables a positive obligation to uphold human rights, including Article 10 of the ECHR, and police impartiality rules."

In response:

"In a response on behalf of all constables involved, solicitors for the joint legal department of Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Police confirmed they are “presently liaising with the relevant officers in the Network to investigate the reasons why you and Fair Cop were blocked from the social media website you refer to”."

@ResisterRex that Amazon clip on the tweet, I don't leave the house much so don't have to encounter the jarring way the "my pronouns are...." guff sounds.

None of them needed to say their pronouns it was obvious what each was currently identifying as

And also why the fuck if I needed a police officer or was being arrested by one would I give a flying fuck about their sexual orientation or their gender identity?

ResisterRex · 04/12/2022 09:06

Merseyside police saying "it's a crime to hate". You'd think they'd bother to know the law on it(!)

There's plenty of things that men don't have to do. And yet they do them anyway.

I saw the person who was on GB News with Lisa Townsend the other day describe 'intimate searches' as cavity searches with medical professionals so there should be no issues at all as far as that person's all male perspective.

If you spread that bit of misinformation then you can then ignore the women and girls being strip searched by males. Including those menstruating at the time, because in that male's mind, 'those' searches are not intimate or however they described them.

Just another male telling us that they are better women than us.

It will be interesting to see how this goes. I think it’s wholly inappropriate for an official police Twitter account to be taking a contentious political stance and that should be investigated and dealt with. Certainly threatening those who lawfully criticize them is inappropriate and potentially illegal.

But whether blocking groups who criticize them would meet the criteria for being an unlawful action seems more spurious. Is blocking someone on Twitter “restrict[ing] the activities of law-abiding individuals and groups”? That seems tenuous.

But I do agree about so many officers “going rogue”. It’s not a good look and is incredibly unprofessional, at the very least.
