'The UK police have recruited several men who 'identify' as women to work as officers or advisers in the last three or four years. Here's a [Twitter] thread on how that's working out so far':

Thanks for this. I've retweeted. I love her work.

SingingSands · 28/11/2022 21:06

Yes, that's working out... not well. Who would have thought?!

sweetgrapes · 28/11/2022 21:12

Wow! That's quite a list!

mumda · 28/11/2022 21:32

Criminal.

Jesus wept

Boiledbeetle · 28/11/2022 23:14

What is it with the manic smiles on these police officers?

What is it with the manic smiles on these police officers?

Smiles of narcissism?

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 28/11/2022 23:20

Where is Felix to explain this away?

Probablymagrat · 28/11/2022 23:22

Sorry if I am being dense, but does this mean that if a biological male police officer identifies as a female, he would be able to do strip searches on female suspects?

What is it with the manic smiles on these police officers?

The known phenomenon of Duper's Delight, perhaps?

CloudsAndLightDrizzle · 28/11/2022 23:33

Thanks for your post, OP - it exposes very troubling facts about the people who are recruited to police forces nowadays, and the lack of judgement by the powers that be.

+1

CloudsAndLightDrizzle · 29/11/2022 00:29

And it has to be said - males figure heavily, in all the recruiting, the recruited, and the excused and accepted men, despite red flags. And subsequently trying to excuse men's behaviour as "banter".

Rape and murder. Is rape and murder just "banter" too?

pecanpie24 · 29/11/2022 00:38

The world has officially gone crazy.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 29/11/2022 01:03

What a surprise.
Their sex is obvious.

They can't believe their luck, they are getting away with it, at work too! Their wildest dreams have come true.
Why can't other police officers see how creepy they are?

TheBiologyStupid · 29/11/2022 01:31

The vetting failures are even worse than I realised - which is saying something! The misogyny knows no bounds.

CloudsAndLightDrizzle · 29/11/2022 01:45

Male police officers who claim that they identify as women, are just men doing womanface. It's no different from doing blackface. Why do current police services applaud misogyny and men doing womanface? Why aren't the misogynists and racists getting sacked?

My understanding is that yes it does mean that, although I think some forces (with decent PCCs) have said that they will not allow that to happen.

Article from earlier in the year here www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10703327/Women-strip-searched-trans-officers-born-male-say-police.html

For the very strong stomached (involves a 15 year old girl stripped searched in front of male officers) www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-61523291.amp

@Leafstamp Thank you for the clarification. I don't know what to say to this, other than what the actual fuck? This is an appalling breach of trust and legalised sexual assault, is there no one protecting women anymore? Im just lost for words. Sorry that I appear to be late to the party.

Leafstamp · 29/11/2022 21:55

Please don’t apologise @Probablymagrat, a lot of us have had similar wtaf moments and felt bad about not realising things sooner.

The most important thing now is that we speak to people IRL, write to MPs, get involved with campaigns etc.

It’s not a huge surprise to see the gravitation towards the police though. Huge scope to exert power over others. Not to mention access to data.

Was having this conversation today, with my Dad of all people, he was saying how much of a problem the police have with men on power trips and with misogyny.

Interestingly, LGBTQIA also made Merriam Webster's list - could these words be connected in any way?
