So good to see this in today’s Observer (part of the Guardian stable, after all) .
We know all the facts of course but they are clearly laid out here. It ends on an upbeat note too.

LOJ must be fuming. That’s 3 not 100% supportive of trans right articles in the last few weeks.

I hope and pray she is right that Westminster will leave Sturgeon to her insane denial of reality and just amend the Equality Act to thwart this at source.

It’s a good article too, pointing out that multiple agencies are very concerned about the SNP’s proposals.
Sodha’s conclusion, that Westminster will have to intervene “to protect Scottish women by updating the Equality Act to clarify its sex-based protections” would be welcomed by many I think.

And when, oh when, will the Cass report (mentioned in the article) in all its glorious, technicolour, rigorous detail finally be published? So many people are desperate for clarification.

A brilliant piece of writing. There is an opportunity for Labour to , partially , rehabilitate themselves in Scotland if they could only grasp it.

The Tories can't take advantage as they are widely despised in Scotland and have always opposed devolution. As a supporter of Scottish independence I simply can't fathom Nicola Sturgeon's thinking.

Several English friends moved to Scotland in the 80s and early 90s to escape Tory England. It would be a sad irony if the exodus went into reverse .
