Mixed-sex toilets in school - anyone challenged it?

I've contacted the school (secondary) about their mixed-sex toilets and got a defensive "it's legal so we're fine" response. Sent them more info and had no reply.

Has anyone got a school to reverse their policy on mixed-sex toilets? I suggested they leave one block mixed and just have some single-sex as well - I thought that was an easy compromise but they don't want to engage at all.

Just seen the thread with parents in Ohio suing the school board but that may be a bit drastic for the UK...

Is it legal? Have they got floor to ceiling cubicles?

Thanks for the link - I've read it and it's good but not sure school will bother.

No gaps under cubicle doors but sinks are outside so not fully self-contained.

Ima Lao interested. They have done this at my kids' secondary. They also now have mixed sex PE lessons. Wondering how common this is?

It is not legal in terms on education settings according to the above document.

The school will have to address this as the government have made it clear they are tightening the rules up on this.

My current school has all gender neutral toilets but single sex changing rooms with toilets. The gender neutral are floor to ceiling walled with sinks inside.

My last school had boys, girls, mixed and accessible toilets so covered every base!
