They're also taking legal action against its creator

What I want to know is who the hell signed it off and why were the parents happy to let it go ahead?

I've included the images for anyone who hasn't seen them.

Just came across this on Twitter. I found the whole ad appalling and agree with view that it's testing the water to see what can be got away with.

Okay, now there's this come to light

According to the article they've dropped the threat of litigation. The Chapman brothers 'art' has always struck me as vile and tedious.

nilsmousehammer · 04/12/2022 14:08

Isn't it interesting.

Whenever the 'queer' agenda is questioned, there are shouts of 'it's innocent!' and 'you're pearl clutching' and 'you're paranoid that this is linked to any real evidence of harm'.

And then the receipts start turning up that prove, the concerns were well founded.

Always. Every single time.

Yes. Remember seeing some of the Chapman Bros work at the Royal Academy in the 1990s, when Damian Hurst and Tracy Emin were also hocking their shit art to great acclaim. I felt really disturbed by it - not to mention finding it beyond ugly, I couldn't imagine ever wanting anything like this in your home; but if you didn't get it, you were a reactionary philistine. Turns out, if you are a pervert, it's right up your alley and makes perfect sense.

Well, well, well.

Thank you twitter, for all the directors.

I've always thought the high fashion fondness for straight shaped, very thin women was pointing towards an interest in children, especially as so many models are actually children. But it's a difficult thing to talk about because of course some women are naturally that shape and they're not children and it can sound offensive.

However I've a friend who had a boyfriend control her eating to make her thin, because that's how he liked her sexually. He turned out to like children sexually too.

FunnyTalks · 05/12/2022 14:59

Wow IcakethereforeIam interesting find!

Weirdly not even that surprised.

TheBiologyStupid · 05/12/2022 15:21

Weirdly not even that surprised.

Ditto.
Emma Watson, well, well...!

IcakethereforeIam · 05/12/2022 15:21

I read somewhere, probably posted, or reposted, here, or on twitter, 'fashion designers can get on with designing for teenaged boys, which is what they've been doing all along anyway'.

They do seem to find it easier to either design for sticks or, in the case of what I saw of Balenciaga's trench wearfare, massive, ugly and shapeless or not shaped for humans.

Has EW said owt? I don't think she would dream of condoning child abuse, I think she's just a follower of fashion.

Helleofabore · 05/12/2022 17:14

Just been told by my teenager that there are many young people who are horrified by this photoshoot. We know of one young man who saved up for a long time to buy some of this brand and they are now deciding what to do with it as they don't want to be seen wearing it.

Remember how intolerant the generation between 18-28 are. I wonder if Balenciaga understood this?

And yes, Emma Watson eh? Not a peep, or did we miss it? Unusual for Emma I would think....

Janie143 · 05/12/2022 22:00

Emma Watson is a director of Kering. Parent company of Balenciaga

Oops sorry missed PP

Unsurprisingly the fashion industry are closing ranks. The London Fashion Awards still have Denma as one of the nominees tonight, no mention in the papers of the bondage bears, several documents relating to paedophile or the images of sad, posed children across the campaign. Yesterday's news it seems.

Yesterday in the Mail, Alexandra Shulman (former editor of UK Vogue), whilst admitting that the images were "distasteful" maintains that there have been endless examples of fashion designers using disturbing images to draw attention to their work. (Oh well, that's alright then, Hmm) but that in today’s more puritanical era, Demna is now on the rack. She ends by questioning whether the current knee-jerk, angry clamour – with society so terribly enthusiastic in the rush to pull the trigger – is a good thing.

???? WTAF - beggars belief. Mob fury and a witch hunt against poor Denma - boo hoo!

antipodeancanary · 05/12/2022 22:31

Wtf is wrong with Emma Watson?? I don't believe for one minute that she is a pedophile, so why does she not have to courage to distance herself from this kind of shite?

IcakethereforeIam · 05/12/2022 23:22

Silence is complicity.

picklemewalnuts · 06/12/2022 09:29

She's been groomed. The photos of her looking like a teenage boy are part of it.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 07/12/2022 21:09

That Prada advert I mentioned in a pp - the one with the bluish triangular spiral staircase that remind me of one of the FBI's paedo signals - was directed by and stars Emma Watson.

PicturesOfDogs · 07/12/2022 21:12

As in Harry Potter Emma Watson?
Or a different one?

I knew she modelled but not directed etc

MichelleScarn · 07/12/2022 21:15

Not surprised EW with her love and protection for Mermaids!

Yes, the Prada advert she's currently starring in was also directed by her.

DysonSpheres · 07/12/2022 21:46

I believe Emma is just naive. A good safe upbringing, steered into a high profile career early, wealthy in her right before she had even matured as a woman.....she is just incredibly fortunate and buffered from the ugly side of life. Many women with less advantage are similarly, happily blind.

I mean how often does some woman come along on FWR questioning why on earth women are making a fuss about men being in women's toilets? Same thing.

MichelleScarn · 07/12/2022 22:10

If Emma is 'naive' should she be in UN Ambassador role?

BedTaker · 07/12/2022 22:49

Watching people who are always apparently on the 'right side of history' stay completely silent on this, because to speak out would put them on the 'same side' as Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Darren Grimes etc is absolutely sickening.

She's not naïve. She's a political activist. She knows exactly what this is about.
