Did anyone see this, it was the BBC DIY SOS programme about a youth centre in Leeds called Getaway Girls, which for 35 years has been supporting vunerable girls and young women by providing a safe place for them to develop, gain support, friendships, skills and confidence. It sounds like such an inspiring place , I wish every young woman had the opportunity to belong to such an organisation, it was heart warming to see. What amazing things women can achieve for ourselves if we are allowed the space and freedom to do so.

That is great to hear. I read your post with trepidation thinking there was going to be a bit now they are....inclusive!

Do Children in Need still give to Mermaids?

Sunseed · 16/11/2022 23:37

Yes, I watched it and was very happy to note the emphasis on safe spaces and no evidence of pandering to "inclusivity".

I hope not! I understand they have in the past so perhaps this was a reparation!
