Cervical Cancer Elimination Day of Action happens this week so I saw on Twitter. Really had to look quite closely to see women mentioned in any of the social posts, mostly driven by the WHO. I then went on to Jo’s Trust website, a charity specifically for women with cervical cancer. Again, it was not that clear that this is a disease that can only affect women. The site goes into much detail about who may and may not have a cervix.
I then google prostate cancer - first result to appear is Prostate Cancer UK with the words: 1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer. The home page shows a man and the encouraging words ‘Men, we are with you’ with ‘men’ peppered liberally throughout.
I despair.
