Money donated to The Guardian

I recall a few years ago reading that a huge amount of money was donated to The Guardian by a trans rights org ... conspiracy theories abound! But it seems plausible, as donations are made to newspapers, and it might explain the fingers in ears of said newspaper. Does anyone have any details of this,?... as I have googled, and found nowt.

Gates foundation gives them lots of cash: www.gatesfoundation.org/about/committed-grants/2020/09/inv017377

The Guardian is run by The Scott Trust

theguardian.org/faq/

'theguardian.org raises funds from private foundations, corporations, government entities and private donors that share our goal to support independent journalism and promote freedom of the press.'

The editor of the Guardian was on LBC this evening assuring Iain Dale that all this talk of "transing" children was not true. Sad

is that not literally erasing their existence?

I kind of doubt it as I have heard plenty of trans people complaining about The Guardian's coverage of trans issues as well.

Thank you, that's brilliant. I feel like I need to draw a spider map ...

I'm sure some do, it doesn't take much! But the guardian has definitely published barely anything that challenges the gender identity narratives.

Ah, I'd been assuming it was a case of 'someone in high places (Viner?) has a trans relative', which seems so often to be the case.

The Guardian doesn't need to be funded by any shady organisations. Its DNA is to parrot whatever is the latest ideology favoured by the left wing of the bourgeoisie.

And the left wing of the bourgeoisie is not the genuine left. The Guardian is not a left wing paper. It is crucial to understand this. It is a ruling class paper which occasionally allows left wing voices.

Thank you for this @BlackForestCake , the quote made me do my cynical laugh and the second part gave me a little lightbulb moment!
