Women are being bullied into agreeing

I’m a member of a group on Facebook- “women’s Rights News” apparently the premiere womens rights Facebook page. But what it actually appears to be is a TRA site. Unless you nod in agreement at every single pro trans post (which appears to be every other post) you get banned (including named as a TERF) this is nothing but bullying and intimidation. I suspect the whole page is run by TRA. They are infiltrating womens spaces everywhere aren’t they?

Get banned. Wear the TERF name with pride.

I’ve tried, unfortunately I’m not speaking in monosyllabic regurgitated sound bites so I don’t think they understand what I’m saying.

it’s so sad to see so many women obviously afraid to do anything but agree

It isn't sad.

It is deeply deeply worrying that public discourse is dominated by a handful of massive tech firms who silence reasonable lawful speech and promote homophobia and misogyny and hate and rape and death threats under the cover of trans rights. It is a threat to liberal democracy.

Just wait 'til we're reliant on digital currencies. We'll agree with whatever these companies say, or have our funds frozen. Canada did it to striking unions recently.
Once you open the door a crack, it allows the rest to force their way in.

ScrollingLeaves · 15/10/2022 16:50

Does “Women’s Rights News” ever have anything on there related to women’s rights, for example health resources for the menopause,, or endometriosis; or FGM; or breast binding for teenage girls?
Or is it simply a platform for trans women to feel validated by news about themselves as ‘women’.

ArabellaScott · 15/10/2022 17:18

Had a look. Most anti feminist bunch of clickbait bullshit I've ever seen.

Try the women's rights network instead.

Facebook staff run a group called Power Admins, where they "Train" the volunteers who run the groups.
The staff are thoroughly Stonewalled, and so are the messages they give out to the admins behind Facebook groups.
Obviously most admins do it to be helpful, and most are well meaning, but I just wish it wasn't Stonewall law being pushed.

TRAs have free reign on Facebook to bully anyone who disagrees with them.

TheGreatATuin · 15/10/2022 17:23

Its worth noting that the word for bullying someone into 'agreeing' is coercion, and that's what this is.

TheGreatATuin · 15/10/2022 17:30

Wow, I just went to have a look and the most recent posts are about 'sexy mood lighting' along with the silhouette of a woman between two poles, and a story about a woman who was given unexpected oral sex when getting a tattoo but apparently was 'appreciative'.
90% of the posts appear to do nothing other than posit women as sexbots.
Its is the bloody opposite of feminism.

When was this and which unions? I live in Canada and I haven’t heard anything about this, which is not super surprising given the state of our media right now, but I wouldn’t mind digging in to find out more. I do recall the government going after bank accounts of protesters in Ottawa last year, which was sketchy enough. The same tactics being used on unions wouldn’t surprise me, though it is alarming.

respectmysex · 16/10/2022 08:33

I follow this page on Instagram. Every 3rd post or so is overtly pro trans. And the people who run it are men.
I follow so I can throw some dissent into the comments whenever possible. Nothing so much I will get banned from insta, but enough for others to quietly click like and agree with me or chip in with their own views, knowing they're not alone.

100%. It's a con.

Tanith · 16/10/2022 12:47

@Witchofthekitchen
My apologies: I had misread the original reports as union action. It was the truckers convoy protests:
www.nationalreview.com/news/canada-unlocks-vast-majority-of-bank-accounts-frozen-for-supporting-trucker-convoy/

It is a worrying precedent. I seem to remember something about China doing similar.
In the future, when we’re reliant on digital currency, I expect governments can and will freeze funds for protest and dissent.

I suspect it’s led by a trans woman. There’s not much real help for women on the site. Ironically most of the support for womens isdues seems to come from men.

I admin a group on Facebook- not connected with feminism at all - although it’s 75% make membership I’m flying the flag and encouraging more women to speak up.

None of that crap would fly on that page.

nilsmousehammer · 16/10/2022 19:50

Everything that has the word 'woman' on it originally was a target, and many very obviously women focused things are now intentionally set up and owned from the start to make it very very clear to the world who gets to tell women what they are, and to control what they are allowed to say.

We're at the point where being deleted and banned means you're a woman doing womaning right.

I think they just need something to pad out their TRA propaganda to try and pretend that’s not what the page is
