exactly.
As if it is something chosen by the girls and women around the world. As if you could just choose to be a boy and it would all be different!

I despair for both girls and boys in this, but doubly so for girls in cultures where you really cannot opt out of how your society will treat you.

I read the article in the Guardian a while back and it was so weird to read the reporter trying to shoehorn gender into it
