And just how do women think then Jamie, you absolute fucktrumpet?

That is an inflammatory headline and I was fully prepared to be enraged, but what he says in the article rings true as far as my own home goes.

I can't be angry at him for talking about his experience of differences between the sexes.

RoseslnTheHospital · 10/10/2022 20:13

The most relevant part of that article is:

"The 47-year-old, who was speaking to promote One, his book of pared-down recipes,"

He seems to have crammed in as many sexist stereotypes as he possibly can into one short article. Attention seeking to sell his book??

WipeYourFeet · 10/10/2022 20:15

At least he's not saying he IS a women when cooking! Or in "girl mode" Envy

SidewaysOtter · 10/10/2022 20:16

My favourite line was the last one about street harassment: "“You think you girls have it bad when you go past scaffolding. Being the Naked Chef in the 1990s was not a good.”

Diddums.

I don't think it was a bad article, it struck me as being somewhat journalist led, or at the least highly edited.

The headline was totally meant to be inflammatory.

facefit · 10/10/2022 20:27

Bad headline, completely fine article

waterwitch · 10/10/2022 20:51

Still dislike the ‘men are like x and women are like y’ Just lazy sexist stereotyping. He could easily have described all these experiences without claiming they are like one sex or the other.

Pixiedust1234 · 10/10/2022 20:58

I've not read the article but my first image was of Gorden Ramsey channelling his inner womanhood to cook better...

I need brain bleach, for the image and for his ranting 😆

Alliswells · 10/10/2022 21:02

I think the headline was meant to be inflammatory but the articles actually ok

Dragonskin · 10/10/2022 22:02

Ah shit, yet another indicator that I am in fact a man....

BlueBrush · 10/10/2022 22:13

Ah, well that's at least given me a laugh in what has been a fairly grim week with everything that's been going on.

I would buy Jamie's book, but I'm too busy floating around my kitchen soulfully reacting to nature to consider anything as toxically macho as following some instructions telling me how to cook something.

Figrolls14 · 10/10/2022 22:21

😂

Figrolls14 · 10/10/2022 22:24

Soulful lunchbox reaction unfolding here...Hmm pickle no pickle...they’re off ham...what about jam....no nutritional value tho ... hmmm...

Figrolls14 · 10/10/2022 22:26

sensual Branston hmmm....

I would not be at all surprised if he was asked about the differences between men and women in the cooking world, and this is how they put it together for the article.

BlueBrush · 11/10/2022 16:19

@Figrolls14 bit of a delayed reaction, but I think that deserves a 👏!

AmaryllisNightAndDay · 11/10/2022 16:33

Does he mean that he washes up as he goes along?

Chersfrozenface · 11/10/2022 16:57

Both my brothers are far better cooks than me. I pretty much heat things up until they're safe, and only because people need to eat.

Does that mean they're actually my sisters and I'm actually their brother?
