I don't understand how this in itself isn't a safeguarding issue.
Transing a four year old?

And this is what Mermaids are arguing for in the GRA? And if someone were to question that child and explain biology to them would that be conversion therapy according to Mermaids?

How are they going to help those children who declare they’re astronauts or fairies or dragons?

WandaWomblesaurus · 07/10/2022 12:50

Worth getting the screengrabs for when they delete it.

Wow. That post won't age well.

WandaWomblesaurus · 07/10/2022 13:00

Needs highlighting in the media.

Just basic common sense seems to have flown out of the window here and I don't understand how any child at age four is capable of understanding this. I wonder if they have an older brother? Why would they be asking about "growing a willy" from age 2?

They're dangerous. There's a reason why they have the current paedophile scandal.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 07/10/2022 13:19

We all know damn well small children are being influenced by parents and other adults to think that their toy choice or behaviour means their body must be wrong.

Remember this? The mother lost custody as she - advised and supported by mermaids - had transitioned her daughter from the age of 4.

Great. Another child unlikely to be adequately safeguarded at school. Gaslit by adults supposed to be protecting them not posting pictures on line if vulnerable young children.

Why Is mermaids allowed to post photos of children?

How is that child meant to have any space to back out if everyone is so involved in their transition.

Why is everyone so afraid of just watching amd waiting and giving children the opportunity to figure out who they are befire adults lock them into identities with publicity and attention

Datun · 07/10/2022 15:30

Hilary Cass said social transition is not a neutral act.

People telling kids that 'trans is beautiful' and to celebrate 'gender euphoria' are dangerous.

Wasn't 'gender euphoria' the euphemism for arousal by a cross dressing fetishist?

What is mermaids definition of gender euphoria? Because if it's happiness from gender dysphoria being treated, they're not qualified.

Whatwouldscullydo · 07/10/2022 15:42

On the plus side as they know at 4, there's no need for extra time with the aid of puberty blockers right🤔

Bearsinmotion · 07/10/2022 15:43

That post is from 2018. I would be very interested to know how that child is now…

WandaWomblesaurus · 07/10/2022 16:26

On their social media pages there are so many images that would appeal to children.
Does Emma Watson think that four year olds are born in the wrong body?

They say that Jameela Jamil contacted them. And there's photos of her smiling away supporting "transkids"
Does she think four year olds are born in the body?

Like an advert for "Transkids" - a new kind of seamonkey. Adorable! Cute! Magical!

Well she also said that all the kids were on puberty blockers when she was at school so she's not exactly credible

PermanentTemporary · 07/10/2022 16:39

But of course. Of course there are young children, preschoolers, babies, who are trans. There have to be. Because the adolescents and adults who trans can't ever be understood through a social, cultural, psychological or psychosexual model. Certainly never ever with a political lens - unless your politics involves total neoliberal individualism, in which case fine, you're allowed to see it that way in certaincircumstances. They MUST be understood through a medical, neuroscientific model that shows up exactly the same from conception to adulthood. Otherwise American insurance companies wouldn't pay for transition, and men couldn't make use of antidiscrimination legislation intended to give equity to women.

How are they going to help those children who declare they’re astronauts or fairies or dragons?

Suggest to them that maybe they like to be an infertile astronaut, fairie or dragon and refer them to Helen Webberly?

mcduffy · 07/10/2022 17:55

Comments limited on their Instagram posts. Was that always the case?

Emma Watson did this at the time - a nice photo opportunity that got a lot of clout.
