Open mixed sex toilets softplay

I have just visited a new softplay this morning where the mixed sex toilets were open, viewable from half of the softplay area. Only a low privacy screen was placed at the entrance. Each cubicle was declared a changing room and were open top and bottom, only a few sinks to share outside, none in the cubicles.

2 baby changing tables in full view outside of the cubicles opposite the sinks. I do not want to expose my child's private area in front of unknown men.

The disabled toilet was locked and once a key given, no baby changing facilities available. Do disabled people not need to change their children's nappies?

Just imagine a woman on her period needing to clean herself or a child opening a toilet door in a state of undress and fully viewable from the general play area or to men washing their hands or lingering.

How is this legal?

It's not mixed sex facilities must have an inclosed cubicals with floor to ceiling walls/doors and sinks in the cubical to be legal

i personally dont see a problem with this, most baby changes are communal anyway

Doesn’t sound legal.

Unless I’ve misunderstood, that softplay area is going to get very smelly very quickly.

I don't see an issue with the changing facilities, but if they are toilets for adults to use then they should be fully private.

But to be honest I changed both my kids in changing facilities where there have been multiple changing mats and men and women, kids and lots of other babies, and never gave it a 2nd thought.

"Just imagine a woman on her period needing to clean herself"

What do you mean by this? I don't think women tend to come out of the cubicle covered in blood, or wash their bits in the sinks...

It is less than ideal- solves some problems but creates others. You can change your tot while still watching your other dc. You can minimise the time you lose sight of your dc. They are more protected from predators than if they were in a normal style loo on their own.

I can see it being quite popular. Do you have more than one DC?
