Fingal Council Lost the Plot (Deleted Library Twitter Account)

The Fingal Library Twitter account was found to be following various clearly suspect accounts like Maya Forstater’s, Allison Bailey’s etc. We can’t have that, can we?

Fortunately Councillor, Karen Power, was right on the case!

“Majorly concerned with the accounts the @Fingalcoco @fingallibraries is following, will raise it immediately with Council officials”

The Council quickly saw the error of their ways, and Karen was ever so grateful:

”Well done @Fingalcoco and @emerogorman for rectifying this situation so quickly and for contacting @RobertBohan to reassure them that the libraries are a safe space for LGBT+ kids”

The rectification being the deletion of the Fingal Library Twitter account:

“Due to unauthorised activity today, the @fingallibraries account has been suspended. Information on Fingal Libraries will be available from this Twitter account and also from Fingal Libraries' other social media accounts.”

^^ The ironic (not sure if that's the right word) thing is I was accused several times of defending the woman in my OP and sympathising with her - I don't even know who she is! And certainly wasn't defending or sympathising with her - I was purely pointing out about how dangerous it is to be sleepwalking into a cashless, paperless and 100% digital society when things like that can easily happen and send your entire life into freefall. And I mentioned TWAW/NW because of the disproportionate amount of people in tech that find GC views akin to "literally killing people"

@AspireMe In my opinion you aren't wrong. I read some of your thread. I agreed with you and was disappointed it seemed to descend into pile on. The whole idea of refusing service to people based on their opinions is very, very scary and something we should all be wary of. Unless you have immense wealth you will be forced to tow the line or else.

I've come to the conclusion that there is a (vocal) section of society that enjoy the cancelling and denying people services based on their opinions simply because they believe it will never happen to them because they are the 'good' people 😂

I've been listening to Blocked and Reported podcast recently after seeing it mentioned on a thread here. Very interesting about the good guys perspective.
