Has anyone seen the recent trashing on Lea Michele?

People are going around saying she can’t read or write in relation to her becoming Fanny Brice in Funny Girl.

Obviously she has come back and refuted these claims and rightly said people wouldn’t be saying this if she was male.

Like her or not, people do seem to rag on women becoming successful

I hadn’t but even if she is unable to read or write, what kind of prick thinks that’s something to laugh at?

Exactly. It would be extremely disabilist to mock her that

I feel really sorry for her, it sounds like she was a bit difficult to be around, particularly to actors who were only doing a single episode of glee and wanted to connect with her (how tiresome when it's the 100th episode or something).

However, her boyfriend was a drug addict at the time and she was trying to hold it all together. He dies, gets sainted in the media but she doesn't meet their exacting standards of tragic, naive and loving girlfriend. Truth be told, he was probably draining the life out of her and she was feeling the strain.

At that point she was carrying the whole show and propping up and addict, no wonder she needed a little help with her lines.

She does get a lot of flack

Such as when everyone was standing at the lake for poor Naya.

Everyone was ripping her to pieces for not being there. But she was heavily pregnant, due any day and couldn’t really travel. They didn’t take that into consideration though

This has been doing the rounds for years, it’s just cruel. I think as someone has already said, it’s ‘justified’ because she has a reputation for being unpleasant herself. Although you can understand her being less than sunshine and light when you consider how she’s spoken about.

Many former Glee cast members have gone on record with racist and /or generally horrible diva-ish behaviour from her.

It must have been awful to lose your boyfriend to suicide.

It can be possible to be a nasty person and have things happen to you that shouldn't happen to anyone.
