Hopefully the token works.

Things are, as ever, grim up here if you are a woman. They are catastrophic if you are a woman of the old fashioned type who wants to protect your hard fought for rights.

But, the legislation is a mess for everyone. I urge you to please, please send this article to your MP and raise the issue of how this will affect everyone.

I responded on this matter to some length in my consultation submission. Scots gov. so I should have saved my virtual ink, of course.

Once more into the breach with my MP.

Surely MSPs are the ones to contact, not MPs.

MSPs too. Of course. Thank you.

But this is in F&WR, not Scotsnet, in order to get women to push MPs to confront the conflict and act accordingly. I think that is part of the way we can push back. If this conflicts with Westminster and devolved powers mean this is out with the competence of Scot Gov (as is being argued in court, they do not have the right to redefine women to include men) this might help.

They’ll just use this as another argument for independence - their progressive Scotland being held back yet again.

There are MSPs and MPs. Some of us might even have officials with a dual mandate.

I'd go so far as to say that this is a matter that is worth discussing with MPs in other parts of the UK who might not be aware of the consequences.

I think it’s absolutely worth writing to MPs if you are not in Scotland. This is about cross-border ramifications and will, for example, impact English students coming to Scotland to Uni (establish residency and then can apply for GRC up here). MPs need to understand the cross-border issues and what a mess it is- wouldn’t take much for them to understand it better than ScotGov 🙄

Remember there is a rally against this outside parliament on the 15th. You can also write to your MSPs about your concerns.

Now is the time to pull through.

RhannionKPSS · 04/09/2022 17:47

Please write to your MPs & MSPs as these political decisions will cause issues over the whole of the UK, if it’s allowed to start in Scotland and please ad your voices to ours on Thursday 15th September.
