Has the title "Sporting bans are forcing trans children out of sports. Sign now to make sports fair for all children."
With a link to a petition to sign, I guess - I didn't click it. But, their idea of "fair for all children" isn't the same as mine, anyway.

Gosh, where does one start? There are no such things as “trans children”, and nobody is forced out of sports- they are all welcome to play in their correct sex category.
If there were a counter petition to keep teenage boys out of girls sports, I’d sign it like a shot.

BrokeAsABone · 26/08/2022 16:37

I am so tired of the lack of care for girls. Where is fairness for them?

Helleofabore · 26/08/2022 16:42

Oh dear. So, they have completely doubled down.

RoseslnTheHospital · 26/08/2022 16:45

It's a nonsense. What evidence do they have that the very recent rule changes from several sporting overseeing bodies has had any effect on children's participation in sport?

CatsOperatingInGangs · 26/08/2022 17:13

Oh I got that ad! Probably because I changed my Facebook profile to non-binary for the craic!
It didn’t seem to getting much engagement. I’m not surprised. Mixed sex sport is a hard sell.

This is really good to see, actually.

If there's one topic that illuminates the issues of fairness and safety fast, galvanises the public, and leads to a clear, loud 'no', it's males in women's sports.

Bring it, Mermaids!

xalo · 26/08/2022 21:13

Just shows how desperate Mermaids are becoming as they see their ideology crumbling.

Yes. And the emotive lie that it's forcing people out of sports, instead of making sure they compete fairly.

No one is buying that rubbish. And it's making mermaids look duplicitous.

Well I’m sorry they feel that trans children are being forced out of sport however I beg to differ that this will be a huge number affected for numerous reasons. I’d much rather that my 2 daughters will partake in sport and not feel excluded- my oldest is 10 but I worry as is the trend as a teenager she won’t want to do it. She’s small but fast and fit but aged 15 she wouldn’t have a chance against a boy who is now a trans girl. Her male friends who are the same age as her now are already a lot stronger, taller etc. she does her best to keep up and can now but that won’t last. As much as I hate to say it we are the weaker sex physically. And I really don’t believe children can be trans. I think you do need to live as an adult in the wrong sex actually to decide if it’s wrong for you because at aged 4 you might as well be a fecking unicorn

It is desperately sad, but children who go on puberty blockers then cross sex hormones at a young age are likely to be in such poor health they are unlikely to be able to participate in any kind of sport. Teenage girls will be catapulted into menopause 30 years too early with the osteoporosis, joint pain, vaginal atrophy and bladder weakness that goes with that, not to mention the mastectomy and hysterectomy that leaves scarring and muscle damage. I dread to think what the incidence of heart disease and cancer is going to be.
