'We recognise that many women and girls do not feel safe in public places and we are working to identify what makes particular areas and places feel safe or unsafe. We want to hear from all Edinburgh residents, particularly women and girls, who live, work and/or study in Edinburgh about your views on where you feel safe, unsafe, and what would help you to feel safe when out and about.'

Done. I don't feel unsafe in Edinburgh. Admittedly there are large parts of Edinburgh I'm never in and have no reason to go to but I feel safe in the places I do go to.

I think that's true for most places/people, Lass. Also depends on time of day etc

There have been surveys from police asking similar - if it means certain areas and times get more police presence that may help.

I had a look but I don't live in or near Edinburgh. I was tempted to put lots of pins in the Edinburgh Rape Crisis Centre, but I had a cup of tea and the urge passed.

I feel safe everywhere in Edinburgh except for where males are allowed into women's spaces.

I agree! However, I used to attend a lot of meetings in Pilton and some areas of wester hailes and did often feel quite uncomfortable there.

Never felt unsafe in Edinburgh but wherever I am I ensure it’s as safe as possible not only in Edinburgh. London is always questionable. But not Edinburgh.
