I just heard a Front Row interview with her about the film of the play that is on TV on Wednesday. It’s about two women reporting rape at a police station.
There was one fantastic line about Namal.
‘Imagine a packet of Malteasers, all alike but then you are told some are pieces of shit covered in chocolate, but you can’t tell which. How would you feel about continuing to eat the packet?’
No idea about her wider views but she said she wanted the film to be shown in schools to both sexes

I wanted to listen but found her hesitant speech really off-putting. Also, there were mentions of 'not all men' and, unless that turned out to be a sneaky plot device, I just can't summon the interest.

Give the interview a listen. She's a very interesting writer and I'm looking forward to seeing this. Her last play, The Welkin, was partly inspired by Mumsnet.

The point about not all men was it was a lame excuse more than being in favour of it.
yes, she was hugely nervous but I was more interested than out off

Just stumbled across this on iPlayer and thought it was very good. But sad that it is so relatable. Bumping this thread as others might be interested to watch it.

I went to university with Kirkwood so she is the same age as me. I'd be interested to know her views on the matter as our alma mater has lost the plot when it comes to trans ideology.
