Grace & Green period product- another one

We stopped using tampax in our house (and herbal essences and dove and Gillette razors) as they are all Proctor and gamble who started with the gender language obfuscation for virtue points a few years ago.

Found Grace and Green, a small independent(much more expensive) alternative.

Carefully checked for the word woman. Which was unobtrusive but present, with no other nonsense language in the literature and have had a subscription for a year now.

Alas marketing/advertising/pr have been at it again.

Bye bye G&G.

There are 3 'cis menstruators" in our house who don't accept either label, infact feel excluded by it, who will no longer be buying from you.

You could have just said nothing, but you chose to send out that. Maybe its savy, maybe any business you loose by people who object will be outweighed by the female enbys and handmaidens, but you know what.. I doubt it

Are there any period companies that aren't scientifically illiterate, insulting gender ideolologues?

The good news is that all modibodi's ads I've seen recently, on Facebook and Twitter, all centre women.

That's a change as I was really annoyed a little while ago that they'd fallen to the bs, as I like their period pants.

bogoblin · 10/07/2022 20:54

My work provides free sanitary products in the office and on site (construction) and I've used the odd Grace and Green pantyliner when I needed one and thought they were rubbish anyway. Being woke doesn't actually make your products good it seems!

I really don't understand that if you don't wanna identify as a woman (but are biologically one) why would you want to be reminded of one of the most unpleasant experiences we have to endure? This 'inclusivity' is going way too far and I'm so sick of it and also the term 'cis' being forced everywhere. I am not cis I am just me and adult human female a woman.

Rael are good and don’t play silly buggers.

eleanorwish · 11/07/2022 08:36

totm make organic period products. I had a quick look at their website. Not much mention of women, except when they talk about endometriosis. They seem to be trying to use neutral language without talking about 'inclusiveness'.

Modibodi are still ok, I hope they stay ok as it's the only way my autistic DD13 can deal with her periods.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/07/2022 10:52

Are ModiBodi ok? There was something they sent me a couple of months ago that gave me the rage, can’t remember what it was now as it was at a really stressful time.
My teenage dds and I all wear ModiBodi , so it was annoying , as I refuse to give money to companies who shore this up. I would be happy to know that I can buy from them.

Enko · 11/07/2022 13:44

other consideration would be using resuable products Places like earthwise sells them (and many others but I used earthwise when I needed them)

jeaux90 · 11/07/2022 15:16

@SirVixofVixHall I didn't see anything from them to give me the rage (yet)

Modibodi are using 'women, girls and people who menstruate'.

Their Facebook page summary states:

'Modibodi was founded to help people to better manage their periods, sweat and incontinence without the need for disposable pads, tampons or liners.'

Then on every subsequent post there is a clear reference to just 'people'... oh except for one on 3 July:

'Would the men in your lives be able to answer these questions correctly?'

🤔
