I've heard of women being called a lot of things but this must take the biscuit. Report defines women as "not male" mobile.twitter.com/UpSticks2/status/1540293322547290115?cxt=HHwWhoCzxbannOAqAAAA

Excellent. That solves all the issues around single sex spaces. Not male women welcome, male women, use the space you already have.

Not male.
Right.
I'm getting sick of the lot of them.

EmbarrassingHadrosaurus · 24/06/2022 13:40

To be fair, it refers to 'analysis below on females' in addition. I need to see the report.

And yes, of course I object to the language.

From the fragment I can see, it maybe that 'not-male' is a grab bag category including trans, non-bin and the like. It's not clear to me if it includes any females at all.

Musomama1 · 24/06/2022 17:01

But if the category is for Trans etc, why use the benchmark 'not male'? Wouldn't 'not female' have worked as well? Or 'not male or female'?

Not at all. Even trans, non-bin, agender or even cat-gender people are either male or female. Every sentient creature on earth is either female or male. The only living creatures that could ever be described as non-male are the single-celled organisms such as viruses and bacteria. Or wall sockets. They could be considered non-male, just s as plus could be considered non-female.

No, noon-male does not describe anybody. It is merely offensive dehumanising.

@JellySaurus I completely agree with you. My comment wasn't intended to defend it, just expressing my confusion.
