Shocking.

Sturgeon talks about menopause and normalising its discussion:

'it should become part of how we talk about life in the way girls will learn about periods and fertility.”'

Even she can’t keep it up.

Hagiography · 21/06/2022 11:50

Apology by lunchtime? Or does she not care anymore?

How do they cope with the cognitive dissonance?

Gnusmas · 21/06/2022 13:01

Split personality disorder. Jekyll and Hyde situation.

SirChenjins · 21/06/2022 13:02

Or an indy ref coming up...

Thelnebriati · 21/06/2022 13:06

That's the answer.

Thelnebriati · 21/06/2022 13:08

As an aside I was only saying yesterday I don't know what's worse, being naïve or being not. I really struggle with sliding into cynicism.

Daisyroseandhyacinth · 21/06/2022 13:12

Does anyone actually contact her to complain or make these points?

Hagiography · 21/06/2022 13:20

Well, that's an interesting conundrum, isn't it?

If she wanted independence, Nicola would probably try to appease women.

If she wanted to give the vague impression she was trying for independence when she actually wasn't really interested in pursuing it, what would she do?

Yes I have @Daisyroseandhyacinth but she never responds with anything other than an automated generic we got your email email and she has never even acknowledged any letters. It's a bit like talking to a brick wall

You misunderstand.

Those on the right side of history can do and say whatever they please. They are immune from consequences, because they are pure of heart and Kind.

Other people, however, risk being collared for wrongthink or speech crimes, they will not be told exactly what it is they have done, because that rests in the perception of the victim and can't always be shared due to sensitivity.

The point is not what one has done or said, but who one is.

My thoughts too!!

Artichokeleaves · 21/06/2022 16:42

It just shows and shows doesn't it? It's a conceit, not a true belief, and even the loudest ones busy modelling their superiority can't help but at times let what they know slip through the pretense.

Zero respect, Nicola. It's a tedious sham, insulting women and girls when it is perfectly possible to value both the females of the species and TQ+ people.

Just had to say thanks for this headline. Deadpan humour -- gave me a laugh!

I do agree, but if no one actually takes this up with her it perpetuates the problem!

Yes.

Nicola Sturgeon's SNP has long had a policy goal of being progressive, for the sake of progressiveness. This was explicit in a response I got (from Joanna Cherry of all people, before she saw the light, or at least before she told the office staffer who wrote the response what the light looked like) This is where NS's stance on gender ideology stems from. Not an actual belief in the ideology. As that tweet shows.
