Also, pony love is pony love, ok?

🙃

(I'd like to point out this is being marketed as classroom wall material and childrens wall art, so there's that...)

Does anyone else think that this narcissistic obsession with trying to define a small aspect of the self is a path to disaster? It's got to the point where it is just salami-slicing tiny aspects of the psyche, and for what? What does it actually deliver in terms of improving anyone's life in any real sense?

Maybe I am showing my roots here, but my God ... the amount of energy and time spent on all this, and what does it really deliver? Does it actually give you a better and happier life to constantly fret over whether you are gender queer or not, and which flag you need to put on your bloody social media profile?

The whole thing is a net: a sticky net, designed to trap and imprison.

I totally agree with you @Torunette
Why don't people put as much effort into categorising and labelling people depending on what food they eat? I mean, it is a bit similar in some ways - LGB is kind of equivalent to having an allergy, as in, it is the way your body is, the rest is just personal choice.

Let's have a flag for people who are vegetarian but won't eat celery and then they can get all offended if someone eats a salad that has celery in it. And let's especially celebrate people who will happily eat a steak but insist they are vegetarian.

So, you are shaming parents for being responsible about internet security for their primary school children? For what reason?

Do you have a child? Are you someone who lets their child use the internet without any restrictions?

Yes of course she does. She’s only 11 and that’s part of our agreement so we know she’s reasonably safe online.

And it is recommended that parents do make those agreements, up front as you sound like you did, and do indeed check.

Particularly if you have a primary schooler and I would suggest even a Year 7er.

So you are agreeing that it is indeed very risky for primary schoolers be on discord and I misread it?

I am very sorry witchitafalls. I read it as sarcasm and have made a mistake.

Call it a guilty conscience after having numerous discussions with my teen at that age and denying them. With all the emotional blackmail that followed. I even told them to be very careful in who they gave their phone number to (only trusted friends), something my teen has thanked me for even now they are 16.

Please accept my apologies.

Yes, it's a very low bar really. I think for folk who are ashamed of their 'cis het privilege' (ie are like 90% plus of people) but want to either a) join the party or b) virtue signal, especially if they have a beard. And hey, I love a party! I just don't need a special flag.

My thought is that the underlying concept has changed. The flags are a system to categorize all sexual expression. The ally flag is fo those unfortunates who don't have a better one.
