Helen's made her essay free this week for obvious reasons. Thought it deserved it's own thread. Do read it, it's excellent.

Helen writes beautifully.

My 2pence would add....I wish therapists would treat the minds of people suffering gender dysphoria, as the problem lies within the minds NOT the body. If we can somehow get gender confused people to accept their natal sex but express themselves however they wish/wear whatever clothes they like etc but accept their sex, then no one would need to have surgical intervention....

We don't agree with anorexics that they are too fat-we treat their minds. We don't agree with depressed people that their lives are meaningless and they should end it-we treat their minds.

Why is mental health not treated in people with gender dysphoria?

I don't know why you think women can read what Joss Prior has to say @SunbowRainshine31 - most if us are blocked. And Prior has been banned from MN more times than I've had KFCs

Do you think, given the opening tweet, that this person is going to be reviewing the article in the spirit of debate, too?

Obviously not, neither was Helens blog post, almost everything she said is contradictory to the experience trans people verbalize.

I did say I shared it as a counterpoint.

Sorry, I was not familiar with Joss before the current Helen Joyce discussions.

There seems to be a determined effort on all sorts of threads at the moment, since Monday, to goad posters into reporting.

Rude comments appear, and get ruder and ruder, without substance.

Not biting.

A recent effort to goad people into reporting? And then there was the recent glitch where Justine said that some staff hadn’t followed the process, meaning that people whose posts had been reported were able to see the email address of the reporter.

Prior is using the term cultural genocide, have they realised genocide on its own can't be taken seriously.
