This just came up in my FB feed. Wtaf?

I mean I guess the point is that the knickers are so comfy that you want to wear them instead of skinny dipping?!? And they couldn't show boobs - but this image is not right at all.

Is they’ve cut and pasted a man’s chest over a woman?

weird.

MagnoliaPrimrose · 24/05/2022 19:08

Yes - weird and odd and very off putting.

Cripes

YANBU.

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 19:10

Ridiculous behaviour.

EvelynSalt · 24/05/2022 19:16

I read it as them making a point about being allowed to advertise women's pants with male nipples but not female. Am I overthinking it? That was my reaction

MagnoliaPrimrose · 24/05/2022 19:19

Maybe, Evelyn. Maybe I'm the one overthinking it 😂

Do any models have pubes these days?

Cavviesarethebest · 24/05/2022 19:22

I think they’re saying it’s hard to sell underwear to women without showing pictures of tits.

MagnoliaPrimrose · 24/05/2022 19:25

But it's really not is it - bras are a thing.

Why not just have her wear a bra top, then? The focus is supposed to be on the knickers anyway.
Maybe I'm odd, but I'd give pants called ComfyBums a swerve anyway.
Sounds like a brand of nappies.

Yes - this seems pretty obvious?
Noting that female chestal areas will get you censored but not male ones.

A pic of a woman in a bra and pants would hardly have registered in most people's minds, but this has successfully drawn people's attention to it.

MagnoliaPrimrose · 24/05/2022 19:32

Well - they wouldn't be the worlds comfiest pants for me personally. Far too small for my post baby tummy...

Maybe I'm being over sensitive but this image, at a time when more and more girls and young women are are choosing to cut their breast off seems very wrong.

Sorry if it wasn’t clear - I think it’s ridiculous to make the statement that you can’t advertise knickers to women without showing boobs.

this was clearly written by male marketing with I imagine a few right on liberal “feminists” championing how showing bare breasts for men to get off on is the height of female empowerment.

it’s ridiculous.

and the underwear looks very uncomfortable.

I didn't find that at all. I absolutely love these knickers. And they're much bigger than that pic would have you believe. Great arse coverage.

(Also missing point of the thread)

tabbycatstripy · 24/05/2022 20:08

£15 for knickers that fall down is also ridiculous behaviour.

bigbeautifulmonster · 24/05/2022 20:09

I've just tried Loki f in their fb and IG pages but can't find the ad so maybe they've taken it swiftly down. And so they should.

Weird.

bigbeautifulmonster · 24/05/2022 20:10

(Sorry for typos. Just tried looking on their fb.. etc... is what that was meant to say)

BootsAndRoots · 24/05/2022 20:12

Adidas recently got in trouble for their advert showing bare breasts when advertising sports bras, this advert is a response to that, stating how they can show male nipples, but not female nipples.

mosside · 24/05/2022 20:14

It worked, it's got everyone's attention and we are talking about it. That's marketing

I agree with tbis

katnyps · 24/05/2022 20:19

I actually liked the advert! I thought it was quite obvious they were making a point that you can show male nipples when advertising underwear (see Snag tights) but not female nipples. I get it was attention grabbing and, yes, you don't need to show boobies to sell knickers but to be fair it's always annoyed me about the nipple thing so they got me on side

Didn't know this.
