I dug up this old thread trying to find some opinions after getting inspired by reading Dr.Jessica Taylor new book”Sexy but psycho”and BPD diagnosis incidentally popping up during Amber Heard trial that I’m following.

I feel we are constantly being forced to”obey authority”and not speak about it unless we are experts in field(even then tho I’m not one). We mustn’t question it yet any woman experiencing or that has experienced DV is at risk of being labeled. The very thing that you aren’t supposed to question what is being forced upon you as if you are not capable of understanding it, is alarming.
I honestly do not see it make sense. It makes a lot more sense to me that women are responding to traumatic events in their life that society keeps gaslighting us is normal-the gaslighting itself is a big component of”feeling crazy”I believe.

What are your thoughts? What are the people”in the field”you know of that are certain that BPD and similar diagnosis is a malfunctioned understanding of how to help women struggling?
