Sorry if the title of this topic is vague but I'm not sure how to aproach it re site rules. Not sure what to say, only that I found it disturbing

How terrifying for the child and their family.
Why hasn't this been on national news?
I think the gender identity issues are entirely relevant and the article is very unclear.

The sex of the child is not disclosed.

It's pretty clear that at the time of the incident the perpetrator was not using a female name/identity. I.e. stating their name as David Jones, and the direct quote - Jones told police “there’s another gentleman involved as well”.

The fact that they are now using Ava Jones and female pronouns makes the whole thing more difficult to decipher.

What in the name of hell is this muddled news report? So many really important aspects that must be addressed and I bloody hope they will be.

The fact that two Males abducted a 12 year old child and received such a pitiful sentence.

The obvious online grooming. These sites should be investigated and shut down.

What's to be done about this type of reporting? I don't know what to call it? Is it that the writer's hands are tied or do our laws allow us to report the truth in plain English? Two men abducted a child.

Re. the Ipso guidelines, I thought one of the reasons (obviously not the only one) for reporting was to alert possible previous victims. Maybe I'm mistaken in this but, if I'm not, then previous identities will be relevant.

This is deeply disturbing. The poor, poor kid.

2 fucking years is all they got?

The gender stuff is so relevant. Firstly, because the form of mainstream gender ideology that is endorsed by schools, charities, and major organisations across the UK has it as completely standard that a child would discuss gender identity with an unknown adult and not tell their parents. Children are told that they might become suicidal if other people don't affirm their gender identity. "Find your real, glitter rainbow family online".

Secondly, this article demonstrates that this mainstream trans ideology has permeated all corners of society. If you are a male with social skills difficulties and criminal, possibly paedophilic intent, you are aware that by claiming to be a woman you can bend authorities around you, disrupt police and reporting and potentially receive a much lighter sentence, in a women's jail. Hell, there are respected charities online campaigning for people like you to be released from jail, or for the end to stigmatising so called "minor attraction".

Hmm. Isn't this one of those things that never happens? That poor child.
