Blocked from my first public page...why do they do this?

I've been a follower of a feminist type page on Facebook for while, yesterday they posted a screenshot of a very woke dad saying he wanted the best for his daughter yadda yadda, and that included not worrying about tw in bathrooms as being attacked in one had literally never happened.

Cue lots of 'best dad on the internet' comments etc.

A couple of us questioned the 'never happened' thing, I said he'd better just hope she never ends up in prison.

All perfectly polite etc. Went to bed, woke up to comments deleted, and no option to like the page, comment on any posts, or even like any posts. So am assuming I've been blocked.

Is this what it comes to? A rewriting of even social media history? If you look at the post bow you'd believe that no follower had any doubts that TWAW, therefore isolating those who do even further?

I tried to message the page, couldn't do that either.

Yep. I got chucked off the DIVA (supposedly a lesbian magazine) Facebook page for querying the use of the term chest feeding when even men have breast tissue.

Unless it got hideous after I went to bed, it was a few women, the target audience of the page, querying politely and discussing. I'm astonished that's not allowed.

Someone will have reported it for transphobia and if Facebook get a certain level of reports about a group, it gets warned and then shut down. Banning people is a way to demonstrate to Facebook that you're cracking down on 'wrongdoing'. It's all part of the censoring that's going on and why we're grateful to have a more flexible policy on Mumsnet.
