The wokes are losing their mind on Twitter at the moment so I am cautiously optimistic. Musk says he is all about free speech. I hope he succeeds in his bid and follows through.

I don't know what the agenda is, just thought of it as a business decision?

He wants to make Twitter ‘more open to free speech’ and has publicly denounced the pronoun madness. I’m not saying he’s perfect but it would be a big improvement to see the main TRA platform not deleting accounts because they said biological sex is real.

Did anyone see that Substack a week or two ago? Something like “if you’ve left Twitter because you hate what Elon Musk said about free speech do feel free not to come work with us”

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I don't like Twitter as it is but neither am I sure I like Musk owning it either for reasons I can't quite yet articulate.

Maybe it doesn't matter which tech oligarch owns it at the end of the day because women probably don't factor highly on any of their agendas.

Nothing I can do or say has any bearing though so I suppose we'll just have to see how it plays out.

Well it’s always going to reflect the views of somebody because there has to be moderation and algorithms. A social media platform cannot ever be a neutral space. I’m not sure I really want Elon Musk being able to amplify his own world view even more than he does currently.

That was just (yet another) silly twitter rumour. Twitter itself has said that wasn't the reason.

I'd be happy with this; it couldn't possibly get worse than it is at the moment.

I wonder. This is the creep who called a British diver a paedophile. All because he refused to let Musk bring his submarine into the cavern where all those Thai boys were trapped? The libel Court in the US found no substance in these dreadful allegations yet he got away with it because Freeze Peach. And vast sums of money. Forgive me if I doubt his commitment to the truth.

It was in response to the diver saying he could shove his submarine idea up his arse. I can kind of see why the diver said that as it seemed a silly idea and there wasn’t time to mess around at that stage and Musk’s response went a bit too far, but it was in response to unnecessary rudeness.

I'd love to think if this as a positive thing, but given he's just used a woman for surrogacy to get his baby daughter, I wouldn't count on it quite yet.

It would be a positive thing for us. I’m really hoping it goes through. Please please please. I know the days of others freely tweeting death threats, doxxing and harassment will be done.

He wants to bring back free speech, he’s sick of the suspensions and wrong-think. He’s also not a fan of pronouns and he’s been called transphobic once or twice.

Have any of you ever thought while on Twitter “It’s my peers (on paper) you delight in reporting to the police and tweeting death threats, but one day the tables may turn and you could be cancel cultured.”

Are there any epic meltdowns yet?

The Schadenfreude would be delicious. I may go mad with power, reporting people as fast as I can. Somebody stop me!

I think that if Musk owns it, we will simply be subject to a different set of arbitrary limitations on what we can say.
