Apparently being a mermaid is an actual job these days - DD was wondering if she was a good enough swimmer to qualify, they work aquariums and swim in the tank to entrain the visitors and DD thought that'd be a great holiday job.

So I definitely think they should have mermaid races. But in there own separate class of course - those long tails must surely be an unfair advantage.
