Just that really. I've been living with my DM for the past two years and she gets the Telegraph delivered. There's been a story about various aspects of gender ideology pretty much every day recently and now today there's a front page story with the headline Trans women can be banned from female changing rooms.

For some reason I can't copy the link. Mysterious.

Paywall but the headline is startlingly clear

You can usually read Telegraph articles on your phone if you click on the link and then immediately go into aeroplane mode.

It's a very clear article. I wish I could read the comments.

or separate male and female changing rooms where “a woman might reasonably object to the presence of a man”.

Ahh, no wonder transactivists are incandescent. That's got to be a kicker.

‘Trauma and safety’

Examples of where single-sex services can be provided are group counselling sessions for female sex assault victims where it is judged the victims are “likely to be traumatised by the presence of a person who is biologically male”.

Good, so I think we're all agreed no female rape survivor has to 'reframe her trauma' to indicate that she believes the person running the place where she is meant to recover has changed sex and that she should be forced to recount her experiences to men.

Christ, you have to wonder where all the bloody decency has been up until now.

I have just scanned down the comments, and the ones I saw were mostly supportive - lots of "about time" "it's just common sense" "finally some sanity" etc.

Enough4me · 05/04/2022 13:27

It should make sense that women and men can have single sex spaces for safety and dignity.

The minority who want otherwise need to respect this and push for separate unisex facilities.

The EHRC was previously 'captured'. It is the new appointment who has made the difference. It is appalling that the existing legislation has in fact been deliberately misquoted all over the place. Sex-based rights were always there NOT GENDER.

Yes, it's the capture. But there are so many people who are captured.

Very disturbing.
