Scottish census - anyone had a letter saying they didn't receive your paper copy?

Hi.
Like many of you I requested a paper copy of the Scottish census to be able to protest (in an albeit subtle way) about the inclusion of certain "trans" questions in the census.
It was sent off last week.
I have had a letter today saying my census has not been received and asking me to fill one in online IMMEDIATELY - it then goes on to state that there could be legal repercussions if you fail to complete the census.

Has anyone else who filled out a paper copy had this letter?
Call me paranoid but I'm wondering if they would "rather" people fill it in online than deal with the paper copies and possible backlash of people protesting the "gender" questions.
Perhaps a lot of paper copies are about to go "missing"?

Nope, not yet. I have one here somewhere under all these piles of paper ...

DomesticatedZombie · 30/03/2022 22:38

It is standard, though, you may well get hassle if you don't return it. I recall this from last time, when I refused to fill it in due to Lockheed Martin's involvement ... in the end nothing happened but I think a lad came round and got really cross.

Yes I got a letter telling me to fill it in despite posting mine. I've ignored it

I filled in a paper copy but haven't received a follow up letter.

littlbrowndog · 30/03/2022 22:42

I got letter today as well

Fuck em. I don’t have a black pen and not telling them about my sexuality none of their business

RVN123 · 30/03/2022 22:42

Yeah I'm ignoring the letter too, I have no intention of filling it in online.

I requested my copy in plenty of time, it took them over 3 weeks to send it to me, and it was posted back to them last week, so they can piss right off expecting me to jump to their tune and fill in the online one.

Sorry should have said I posted it in shortly after I received it.

Ours is filled in and posted but we got a letter, dated 21 March ie the earliest day we could post it if sticking to the point of the census and doing it on the 20th. Mad. What a waste of paper and postage. They could have waited 2 weeks and saved my tax money. Spend it on a few nurses or something

DomesticatedZombie · 30/03/2022 23:08

Christ, it's like a fucking phonebook!

Waitwhat23 · 30/03/2022 23:36

Yep, got a letter yesterday dated 21st March saying they hadn't had a return. I waited almost a month for the requested paper copy and sent it back the day I received it so they've got a cheek to be honest.

littlbrowndog · 30/03/2022 23:40

It is domesticated. And you need a black pen as well

Pages on pages.

Skyellaskerry · 30/03/2022 23:51

I posted mine last week, no letter so far anyway.
