This could be very helpful or very dangerous it all depends on how the research is done. We have all seen the dodgy and biased surveys online and on here claiming to be by researchers looking into gender critical groups/people.
Does anyone know how woke the London University that has been contracted to do this study is?

This sounds a positive development. Hopefully they'll ensure that the research is not influenced by the normal bully groups but is professionally run and unbiased.
