There's a ridiculously short window to fill in this ridiculously short survey. Didn't see a thread on this already so wanted to flag up. Closes tomorrow. Free text box at the bottom. I had the same reaction! Wish I'd written more in the text box now. I put about males in women's prisons.

Nope. That is it. You can also fill it in multiple times and it has a free text field 👀

There doesn't seem to be a limit to the amount of times you can respond...

Thank you for the heads up - I used the free text box to say they should focus on listening to women - we are telling them we don't want any men in our spaces, but get abuse for speaking up and the loss of spaces continue. We are reporting abusers, stalkers & flashers to the police, but all too often get ignored and the violence continues.

Let's not condone skewing this consultation by duplicating submissions.

Thanks for making me aware of it though. I asked for them to provide clear transgender guidance for local authorities and schools that is sensitive to their needs without compromising single sex provisions for toilets, changing facilities, accommodation and sports. That these spaces must remain single sex for the privacy, safety and confidence of girls.

Thanks for the heads up. I used the blank space for recognition of single sex rights and spaces, and better provision.

Yes, because key areas are missing -

-the rise in sexual harassment, assaults and rape against girls in schools (recent research and surveys to build on to find out what'scausing this and what to do about it),
-prostitution,
-female prisoners (the research is pretty recent into the fact that many of them have brain damage as a direct result of male violence. I'd want to look into prevention, alternatives to prison etc.),
-educational programs designed to address VAWAG from an early age with the aim to first of all reduce sexual violence against girls at school and secondly teach both girls and boys how to have healthy relationships,
-domestic violence

I mean seriously, how can you have a list with things you're going to focus on in relation to VAWAG and leave out domestic violence?

It's hard to choose which are the 'best' (or 'worst) things to focus on, there's so many!
In the end I put trafficking, FGM and wrote in the text box 'preserving women's sex-based rights in relation to trans rights'.

That's it?!

I also ticked 'other' and wrote a longish answer.

But that is a pathetic survey. I've half a mind to complain. How can they get good data/response from a tiny ticklist and a wee vague 'other' box like that?

My point was that they need to name this as MALE violence against women and girls, because that fact is conspicuous by its absence.

We can't consider the root causes of MALE violence if we can't even name the issue clearly.

Where does all this vague, terrible violence come from? What miasmic, undefined source is persecuting women and girls? What could it be?

Is it aliens?
