'where are teh women?' is a fascinating read. This article describes the dearth of lasting monuments to women.
'Existing monuments to named women numbered at the time a mere five statues in the whole of Glasgow (now seven) and three in Edinburgh. (still three, I’m afraid).'
Bit gutted to see recently that Ayr has created a statue of a witchpricker, instead of what you'd imagine would be the more logical choice - a statue of one of the women burned for witchcraft in the town. (There were many.)
Anyway.
