Women have been at the heart of British Trade Unionism since it began and while there has been mutual support between women and men in the fight to get better working conditions, we cannot forget sexism has undermined the struggle too often.
Women workers won in the Match Women's strike, The Cradley Heath Chain Makers strike, at Dagenham and in countless other battles.
They will win this battle too. Anyone on the left get ready to mobilise in your union and within the Labour party as well. Follow on twitter.

Welcome to the Women's Trade Union Federation. We are Female Trade Unionists drawn from across the trade union movement who are concerned about the lack of protection from our respective trade unions as a consequence of the politics of gender identity.
Women make up the majority of trade union members and unions should take note of this. It is a scandal that the Equality Act and the Forstater Vs CGD Employment Tribunal ruling have not been acted upon within unions and taken forward more robustly to defend women members.
The WTUF work collectively to support each other against the worst attacks on women and our rights in a lifetime. Some of us are highly experienced activists working alongside those who are new to activism.
Over the coming months we will be challenging unions to defend their own women members single sex spaces, their right to say that sex is immutable and that gender is a tool of oppression.
We should not face bullying and intimidation for stating material reality.
Unions should explore the clear rights conflict between calls for women's rights and trans rights. Women members should be fully consulted, encouraged to present their positions and supported to do so. It is a scandal that unions are absent in this regard.
The WTUF is here to encourage women's participation as activists and supporters within all unions. We will support you to do so. We will help you understand how to change policies and to take positions in your unions. We will provide training on activism and campaigning.
For those of you who are already activists we will work alongside you in Solidarity. There is no need to feel isolated - your Sisters are here.
We are also happy to work with established groups who share our aims.
Help us to help you and others.
We will publish our demands and website soon which contains details of how to join us.
We can and will be your voice where you have none.
