Chair of Governors vacancy

Please could we have a GC brainstorm about women (preferably, but not exclusively) that would be brilliant as Chair of Govs at a girls school in north London.

Think you need someone who's been a school governor first. It's a steep learning curve being a chair of governors - so many complexities. You need a real commitment to education and children's rights.
Sorry - don't mean to pour cold water on your discussion. Just aware what a challenging role it is.

Yes, I think you're right. It's not the sort of thing most people would consider in a million years. The school have said that no previous governor experience is required, but the learning curve and workload would be enough to put many off I expect.
