Philippa Perry hates women. No matter how bad the behaviour of uncomfortable the fetish, she always sides with the male partner & essentially calls the female partner a prude.

In case anyone here is unaware, Philippa Perry's husband is Grayson Perry. She has a personal stake in increasing the acceptance of (at least some) fetishes.

Disappointing, as I quite like one of her books.

I get what she means from a therapy perspective, that understanding why the person does a thing is important. A therapist would lose their clients if they jumped to judgment every time their client described something unwholesome.

But I also know that if a person described, for example, racist behaviour, as well as seeking to understand why, a therapist would name the racism.

I think this is more indicative of a wider society which cannot understand women as an oppressed group, because the class of woman doesn't contain any males for them to empathise with.

Oh what?! I thought she was ok. Really liked her book on parenting. It’s not the same at all. Having a wank could be said to be the same. But porn is harmful because it’s other people.

Nah. The private poo is analogous to having some sort of imaginative fantasy, entirely private and affecting no-one else. Porn, because of the 'objectifying, potentially exploitative side ' inevitably does affect other people. So it's more like taking a dump in a stranger's garden.
