Scotgov have no view on what women should do

If they find themselves placed on a ward (supposedly female only) with a male patient who claims to be a woman.

Link to tweet by Lucy Hunter Blackburn of MBM

"When we met the Cabinet Secretary last week we asked specifically about such a case, and whether in such a situation it was acceptable for a woman to complain. We were told SG has no view of its own on this and it is entirely a matter for UK-level guidance and local providers.

We put to the Cabinet Secretary two specific Scottish cases which had been shared with us privately, relating to the experience of women on designated single sex wards.

We were disappointed to be told that the SG does not regard it as part of its responsibility to have a point of view on what women are entitled to expect, or entitled to do, in such circumstances."

So Scotgov do not give a damn about women - ill, weak, in a state of undress & vulnerable, feeling distressed, anxious, fearful & denied basic privacy & dignity because they've made it acceptable for men to claim to be women & destroy single sex spaces by their demands to be included.

This needs to be put on some leaflets & posted through as many doors as possible - the council elections coming up really do need to be the moment of enlightenment for the Scottish electorate on the absolute shit show we have in this SNP/Green government.

Callous bastards!

Isn't the NHS devolved?

PlayYouLikeAShark · 27/01/2022 22:31

Yes.

So they want Boris to decide.

Aye right.

They are absolute woman hating charlatans. I am not on their side politically but any grudging respect I had has gone over their refusal to listen, engage or answer questions.

They are like the kid who hasn't done his homework but still swears blind he knows more than the teacher so doesn't need to bother.

What will it take? Rape? Assault?

Person centred care - as long as the person is male.

Hoardasurass · 27/01/2022 22:47

But nicola said our concerns are not valid and self id is a good thing so this can't have really happened like that she's must of been a nasty transphob 🤬
Nothing to see here because nichola can't/won't hear women

A follow up thread from Lucy (I'm assuming ) expands on the discussion she had with the minister - if these are the details that prompted the response highlighted in Lucy's initial comments, I'm actually speechless at the depth of the callousness displayed.

Link to twitter thread - contains upsetting details

Seriously. How can a government minister respond with "SG does not regard it as part of its responsibility to have a point of view on what women are entitled to expect, or entitled to do, in such circumstances" after the disclosure (I'm assuming) made?

This is so beyond the pale.

Speechless!

'the SG does not regard it as part of its responsibility to have a point of view on what women are entitled to expect, or entitled to do, in such circumstances'

Is the ScotGov responsible for upholding the EA?

DoubleYouOhEmAyEn · 28/01/2022 16:27

They don't have a view because if they expressed a view they would either have to say women are right right to complain, which goes against Sturgeon's position, and would invoke the wrath of the sacred caste or they would have to clearly state men can be wherever they want whenever they want, which they know will cause a backlash and lose them votes. So the 'no view' position is the cowards way out.
Spineless misogynists.
