There's none so blind as those who refuse to see. Their railroading of gender woo will ruin countless young lives. It's absolutely shocking.

Look out for the mad blinking after she starts being asked questions

Fuck. Awful.

Alekto · 12/01/2022 21:00

I've heard it said that Nicola Sturgeon is so motivated to allow this to be pushed so hard by the ideologues running the show there because she was so against same-sex marriage, and now feels remorseful. Obviously, the fact gender identity ideology utterly shafts same-sex attracted people has completely passed her by, which shows how much they actually mean to her. She's just frightened to be caught on the wrong side again.

Which is funny really, because she absolutely will be remembered for the horrific effect her government has had on the rights of women, children, and LGB people in Scotland.

MiladyBerserko · 12/01/2022 21:04

That could be the reason.
But where's Peter? Shall we ask him?

Maybe we should pose the question en francais, @MiladyBerserko?

MiladyBerserko · 12/01/2022 21:13

But hang on.. As far as im aware NS supported SSM.

Lots of politicians didn't. Obama, for example. I'm not sure if NS had a conversion moment...?

They don't care what the public think about this or any particular policy, because the public keeps voting them in.

It's like watching Claude Greengrass twitching.
Alekto · 13/01/2022 00:05

She voted for it, but the piece I read suggested that her personal views weren't in accordance. Annoyingly I can't find it now, but I am sure it was re Nicola. Maybe one of Glinner's?

MiladyBerserko · 13/01/2022 07:21

I dont think so, Alekto

I just don’t get it. She is simply awful. How does she keep getting public support. But then I guess Boris ditto.

Rainbowlaceshelp · 13/01/2022 07:31

I think it was section 28 you might be thinking of Alekto

Igmum · 13/01/2022 08:16

If she was personally against same sex marriage this could be another aspect of that. IIRC it was one of the reasons behind the original GRA, to prevent these pesky homosexuals marrying. Whether or not this is accurate it's a horrific move. Sympathies to women and children in Scotland

Is it not the case that when SSM was being lobbied for, the SNP were in hock to some millionaire bus company tycoon who was steadfast against it, and she was the shadow minister who spoke on it as an SNP party rep? I have a vague recollection of a clip of her talking against SSM as a policy, from a looooooong time ago.

It'll take a bit to dig that out but I'm sure there'll be something on wings over Scotland's website on this.

I absolutely hate her and she and her gender bs is why I voted tory in the last election up here and will continue to do so until the sensible adults are back in charge of the other political parties and no matter how much I want independence for Scotland I will not vote for it until Joanne Cherry is running Scotland (will happily accept any other gc 1st minister who will stand up for women, girls and children against this dangerous bs).
Now I know that this is just my personal opinion and that I can't prove it but I can't help but find the SNP to be a dangerously corrupt party under Stergon with a disturbing coersive and controlling pattern of behaviour especially when you look at the record under her.
1st you have the named person bill
2nd the illegal trans guidelines for schools
3rd refusal to replace said guidelines for years
4th the whole Salmond affair
5th the silencing of all charities that get funding from scot government with clauses in their funding system
6th refusal to engage with women/women's groups
7th rape crisis fiasco
8th the hate crime bill that actively discriminates against women
9th refusal to publish the gra reform survey results
10th rapists in women's prisons
11th allowing men to self id as women when charged with crimes including rape
12th refusing to criticise the SNP member for threatening J Cherry
14th the new trans guidelines for schools
15th the census sex guidance
16th the schools census with questions noone should have to answer
17th the complete emeshment with stonewall etc al
I could go on but I'm sure you get the jist

All of that all of that 💪💪💪💪

Their approach to same sex marriage was the complete opposite to self ID. They dragged their heels, consulted with everyone who might be affected, and ensured opponents had their right to object protected.
