899,000 ish signatures.
The petition is written without any reference to women. An example of the erasure that was predicted on here about on here five years ago and everyone said wouldn't happen.
I have pasted the text below.

At 1,000,000 signatures, this petition becomes one of the top signed on change.org!
Rachel Paul started this petition to Welsh Government and From 1 January 2022, if you are aged 25-49, the gap between routine tests has now changed from 3 to 5 years, meaning an additional 2 years between cervical screening and potentially seeing further deaths from cervical cancer!

On average 3197 cases of cervical cancer are discovered each year with 854 deaths between 2016-2018, with only 51% surviving this type of cancer for more than 10 years.

99.8% of cervical cancer cases are preventable (according to cancer research UK).

INCREASING THE LENGTH OF TIME BETWEEN CERVICAL SCREENING IS PUTTING LIVES AT RISK!

The success of the HPV vaccine means I wouldn't be particularly supportive of this petition anyway to be honest, so long as those women who need to access screening can.

But yes, only one sex can get cervical cancers.

Cuck00soup, women who are now in their 30s and 40s did not receive the HPV vaccine. Does their peace of mind not matter?

SilverGlassHare · 07/01/2022 15:07

Yeah, what, as long as people in their 20s are fine, no worries about the rest of the female population?! I had a clear smear then had significant cell changes detected three years later, if I’d waited five years I’d have had cervical cancer. I never had the option for the HPV vaccine.

It's because the sensitivity of the testing has improved. But as above I agree with the AIBU that the petition should be discussing women.
