"Plan to allow rapists to self-identify as women" is, oddly enough, not a popular plan.

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 26/12/2021 16:08

To see it written like that was good, no hiding what they meant!

Justme56 · 26/12/2021 16:19

I had to read this several times - White’s penis was erect and sticking out the top of their trousers - in the courtroom????

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 26/12/2021 16:21

I was trying to imagine I hadn't read that bit.

That's the words a prosecutor had to use in court when describing the sex offences committed by 'Karen white' while he was being held in a woman's jail for murder. Self ID is not written into law in the U.K., and yet it's what already happens within our legal system. People sworn to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth are being compelled to lie.

(Note: We are explicitly permitted by the MN guidelines to refer to convicted sex offenders such as white using the appropriate sexed pronoun.)

I think this was a quote from the courtroom, not an actual description of events in the courtroom. Used to show the problem of 'her penis' being used as a phrase:

'“At White’s trial, the prosecutor reported: ‘Her penis was erect and sticking out the top of her trousers.’'

But who knows ...

ArabellaScott · 26/12/2021 16:38

“Everybody knows this is nonsense, though no one can say it without being cancelled,”

'those who would have you believe absurdities ...'

2319inprogress · 26/12/2021 16:42

"We’re all too busy wrapping ourselves in rainbows while policy like this is made that prioritises, apparently, the feelings of alleged perpetrators of rape rather than the feelings of the victims." well quite.

Queenoftheashes · 26/12/2021 16:54

Love the quotes in there especially the police one

Justme56 · 26/12/2021 16:58

Thanks for the clarification.
